Hello to a new year, a fresh start, a blank canvas, a make it whatever you want it year! This past year has been filled with so many changes for Autumn Lane. We sold our house, we’re expecting another little one, we moved to Nashville. It has definitely been a year of changes which is why you haven’t seen to much of us lately!
“Do not ask God to guide your steps if you’re not willing to move your feet”
I am also looking forward to many changes this year, including the adjustment of becoming a family of 4(although I will admit it is kind of terrifying!!) I don’t typically make resolutions for the new year. However, I thought I would change that this year, but instead of resolutions make a list of goals for myself, my business, and my family.
The biggest goal for me this year is to
#1 Make the jump! I will explain more later 😉
#2 Simplify my business! I think it is great to be good at many things but even better to be an expert at few things! I want to specialize in newborn, baby, and children photography and my goal this year is to make it happen! I want to attend a workshop or two to really help me grow as a photographer to be the best for my fantastic clients!!
#3 Be confident! I am absolutely my own worst critic! I want to be confident in my work.
#4 Find my style! This goes along with #2, but I think it is extremely important for my style to be seen and consistent in EVERY session I do!
#5 Make new friends(in the biz!) I feel like photographers/artists can learn so much from each other and I want to surround myself with people that inspire me and challenge me to do better!
#6 Get featured! I would probably die if I saw my work featured on a major site!
#7 Document life! With baby #2 coming in March I want to ensure I take the time for my family as well! I don’t want to miss a single thing and I want to capture a few of them so we can always look back at the amazing memories we had.
#8 Print more! This is for me and my clients! No client has ever said “thank you so much for this disk of images we will cherish it in my computer desk for the rest of our lives” This means that I will possibly be changing some packages to include more prints!! I want my clients to see their beautiful family photos hanging on their walls! Exciting right?!
#9 Blog more! Um Ya because I am terrible! I am making it a goal to blog some from each and every session I do this year, along with a few personal posts as well!
#10 Love my job! I see so many photographers get bogged down and bored with this fantastic gift God has given them. I want to forever love this job and be able to support my little family with it!
So there you have it! My top 10 goals for 2014.
